TA Science Easter Science Club Week 2

Last Tuesday, the students at Science Club undertook the second round of Easter activities after school using various materials provided. The final challenges were:

🥚 Walking on raw eggs, a Physics challenge – A big well done to Kye Hazelhurst for taking 1st place by breaking the least number of eggs on this challenge, in close 2nd was Lola Burgin. You can take this learning into your Science lessons when studying topics on pressure.

🌋 Volcano Egg Dyeing and Magic Easter Eggs – Students used hard boiled eggs, food colouring, baking soda, vinegar & paint brushes to investigate various reactions once they decorated their eggs.

🐰 Easter baskets – Everyone over the two weeks worked really hard on their baskets and there were some amazing results!

Our final task was to reward various prizes for the competitions the students have participated in since January. These were judged across some of the following areas:

✅ Displaying good teamwork during various challenges and the ability to work together to find solutions or support anyone who was struggling

✅ Showing superb effort to complete tasks and understanding individually and as a group

✅ The final outcome of their hard work, whether it was completing the Murder Mystery tasks, making pizza or Easter baskets and ice cream

All students who attended at Science club at some point this term received an Easter Egg for doing well. 🐣

A big thanks for all the support from the Science Club students this term as well as staff including Mrs Wootton, Mr Haigh, Mrs Heafield and Mr Curtis for helping us all have a great time.

See you all after the Easter break for more challenges. The new programme for after Easter will be out on the science corridor and on your Science Club google classroom shortly.
