WPT Young Musician of the Year 2023

On Thursday 12th October, WPT held the finals of the Young Musician of the Year competition. This was a fantastic evening with 25 students from KS1 to KS4 competing.

There was a wide range of instruments and styles of music played from Heavy Metal to Classical. All the secondary schools had students competing and some of the primary schools were represented.

There was amazing talent amongst these young performers and all were a credit to their schools and the trust, performing confidently.

It was wonderful to see how all the competitors supported each other in their performances.

The winners of each category were:

Pre-Grade 1 – Eben from Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary School
Primary  – Anna from Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary School
KS3 Vocal  – Ruby from Wickersley School & Sports College
KS3 Instrumental – Lucas from Thrybergh Academy
KS4 Vocal – Ben from Thrybergh Academy

KS5 Instrumental – Joshua from Wickersley School & Sports College

However, the performance of the evening was from Violet from Brinsworth Whitehill Primary School who won the overall Young Musician of the Year 2023 award!

A huge well done to everyone involved!
