On 20th October, our Science Club held its final session before half term, with two exciting Halloween-themed activities!
First, the pupils created their own Oozing Pumpkins. After carving their pumpkins using Halloween templates, they added sodium hydrogen carbonate, washing-up liquid and food colouring. They then poured in vinegar and watched as a chemical reaction created bubbling foam that oozed out of the pumpkin’s mouth!
Next, they made Halloween Snow Globes, attaching spooky characters such as ghosts and pumpkins to the bases of clear containers. They added water, washing-up liquid and glitter before sealing their creations and turning them upside down to watch the glitter swirl. It was a fantastic way to finish the half term!
