This week in Science Club, students continued exploring our STEM theme through two exciting practical investigations.
First, they explored how plants transport water by placing white roses and chrysanthemums into coloured water. They added their choice of food colouring and glitter before leaving the flowers to observe how the xylem carries the coloured water through the stems and into the petals.
They then created Elephant’s Toothpaste, using yeast, washing-up liquid, warm water, food colouring and hydrogen peroxide to produce an exciting foaming reaction. It was another fantastic session, well done to everyone who attended!
