On Tuesday 11th November, students at Thrybergh Academy came together in silence at 11am to remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms and future. Our students showed tremendous respect throughout, with many taking time to research family members who may have served in past conflicts.
Some of our students who are members of the Army Cadets led a short service at the front of school, laying a wreath at our WW1 memorial before joining their peers for the minute’s silence. We were also joined by students from Arran Hill, who supported the service and marked Remembrance Day with us.
Many of our young people attended services in the community on Remembrance Sunday too – including Lexi in Y7, who represented St John Ambulance at her local parade.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for their reflection, respect and pride.
