This week in STEM/Science Club, pupils continued their Halloween-themed fun – since the holiday took place during half term! Students took part in a range of exciting, hands-on activities combining creativity and science.
First, those who hadn’t had the chance before were able to carve their own pumpkins safely, using gloves and tools to scoop out the seeds and design spooky faces.
Next came a series of Halloween-themed science challenges:
- Halloween Snow Globes – Pupils created their own glittery snow globes by gluing Halloween characters inside containers, then adding water, washing-up liquid, and glitter before sealing them and giving them a good shake!
- Halloween Lava Lamps – Using plastic bottles, oil, water, and Alka-Seltzer tablets, students made bubbling lava lamps that looked just like mini potions in action!
- Halloween Baking – To finish off, everyone decorated shortbread biscuits with spooky Halloween and Bonfire Night designs to take home.
Well done, everyone!
