Y10 Drama Trip

Recently, our Year 10 Drama students took part in a Trust-wide theatre trip to Hull Truck Theatre to see John Godber’s latest hit comedy, Black Tie Ball.

The play, set in an aging Yorkshire hotel, follows the overworked staff as they navigate the chaos of hosting a glitzy private event – all brought to life through Godber’s signature, witty, and sharply observed style.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, gaining valuable insight into professional theatre and the techniques that make Godber’s work so distinctive. Seeing a live performance of his writing has provided some great inspiration and technical understanding, as they prepare to devise their own Godber-inspired pieces later this year.

This trip is a brilliant example of how WPT’s Enrichment Promise offers students memorable opportunities beyond the classroom – helping them connect their studies with real-world creative experiences.

Well done, everyone!
