TA Science Club

Last week during Science Club, students used the skills they had learnt in lessons in order to complete the final part of the Desert Island Challenge. Everyone looked at the salt they had produced in the evaporating basins, and then distilled the salt water so they could produce pure water, ready to drink on the desert island. To assist with this, they were provided with a setup of simple distillation equipment.

The students were then challenged with using two different conical flasks of mixtures in a solution, in order to make a magic flask with changing colours. They worked on this both independently and in teams, and completed the task to an excellent standard.

Well done, everyone!
