On Friday 9th May, Y9 students at Thrybergh Academy celebrated 80 years since the end of World War Two with a street party. We also welcomed Y5 students from Foljambe Primary and Thrybergh Primary to join us in our celebrations. Students had cakes and sandwiches, listened to some 1940’s music, and played some outdoor games together in the afternoon.
On the 8th May 1945, Britain rejoiced and celebrated the end of conflict in Europe by putting aside differences and coming together as a community. At Thrybergh Academy we marked the 80th anniversary of VE day by coming together as a community to celebrate, and have some fun!
A huge thank you to all of the students that were involved in this event.
