The Return of Thrybergh Science Club!

The first week back at Science Club brought us to Bonfire Night, and everyone took part in Bonfire Night themed activities. We ventured back down to Food Technology to test some skills such as, following instructions, and the process of following measurements. The students used these skills to make some toffee apple muffins, or a variation of this depending on what each student liked, and they also worked independently whilst making some delicious toffee apples! We linked this to Science through the ability to follow a method when doing practical experiments.

The students were brilliant in both tasks, and worked both in a team and on their own brilliantly! They then decorated their creations, shared them, and took some home for their families.

Some students also took on the responsibility to help out with health and safety while everyone was making toffee apples. A special well done Lola for starting this, and well done to Harley for making some extra muffins, which some students tasted and loved.

Parkin and shortbread were also made prior to the lesson for any students to try, or come along and have during the following days. Well done everyone!
