It was a real privilege to open our doors last night and welcome prospective students and parents/carers to our Y5/6 Open Evening. The evening truly showcased the welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community at the heart of Thrybergh Academy.
The evening kicked off with an inspiring presentation from our Headteacher, Mr May, outlining what makes our school community so special. Visitors then explored our classrooms, took part in hands-on activities, spoke with current students, and discovered the broad range of opportunities waiting for them at TA.
We loved hearing some of the feedback from the Y5/6s and their families:
“My favourite part was getting to try out all the different experiments in the science classroom. It was so fun and made me really excited about coming here next year!” – Lily, Y6 student
“It’s been a great evening, and it’s also been good to speak with the teachers and get to know the school a bit more. You can really see how much everyone cares.” – Y6 parent
As part of Wickersley Partnership Trust, our core mission is to ensure every student leaves us able and qualified to play their part in an ever-changing world. This ethos is reflected in our ambitious curriculum, which prepares students for lifelong success by instilling essential knowledge, practical skills, and strong core attributes. Underpinning this is the “Thrybergh Way” – a shared set of values that develops independence, personal responsibility and resilience.
We hope all our visitors left with a clear picture of what makes our school such an inspiring place to learn and grow.
