This week in Science Club, pupils continued their STEM project, ‘Is There Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Real World?’
They explored how distillation can be used to create special effects like those seen in films such as Harry Potter and Hocus Pocus. Using orange peel, water and a bunsen burner, they carried out a practical experiment to extract limonene and observe the process of evaporation and condensation. It was a fantastic opportunity to put their knowledge into practice and see the science behind the special effects. Well done, Science Club!
