We are bursting with pride to announce that our Year 11s have achieved Thrybergh Academy’s highest-ever GCSE exam results!
Driven by targeted strategic interventions and quality teaching, this year’s outcomes show clear and sustained improvement across the school:
Attainment 8 rose significantly to 34.5, up from 28.7 in 2025. The proportion of students achieving a strong pass (Grade 5+) in English and Maths reached 22.8%, nearly doubling last year’s figure of 12.1%. Subject performance was equally encouraging, with Geography 4+ passes surging to 75% (up from 16%) and MFL 4+ passes climbing to 75% (up from 56.7%).
Mr May, Headteacher at Thrybergh Academy, said: “Today is a moment of immense pride for everyone at TA. These outcomes are a direct result of the relentless hard work of our students, the unwavering commitment of our staff, and the strong support of our parent community. To see such dramatic growth in subjects like Geography, Languages, and core Basics proves what our young people can achieve when given the right support and ambition.”
The significant progress at TA has played a major role in the wider academic improvement seen across Wickersley Partnership Trust’s secondary schools this year.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026 – we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
