WPT is 10 Showcase!

Last week, some of our incredibly talented students took part in the WPT is 10 Showcase at Magna Science Adventure Centre – an event to commemorate the 10th anniversary since Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) was established.

The Showcase was WPT’s biggest collaborative event to date, with over 300 students from across the Trust coming together to put on an extraordinary exhibit and show for the school, Trust and local community.

When attendees first arrived, they were first greeted with a stunning performance from our super musicians in the Face of Steel before heading into the Art Gallery, which displayed hundreds of pieces of work from some super talented artists. This led the crowd to the Big Hall where they could see a DT display, a timeline of the Trust, the WPT School Report showcase and our Alumni stand.

Then it was showtime! We’re proud that our very own Thrybergh students played a crucial role in the event, performing an extract of Cinderella.

All of the students who took part in the Showcase did our school, Trust and local community proud – we certainly have some very talented students! Well done to Noah W, Mathilda, Scott, Noah F, Gracie, Josh, Ruben, Leanna, Robyn, Ruby, Melanie, Miley, Kizzy, Kgaogelo, Thomas, Katie, Daizy, Lilly, Tori, Layla, and Flo.

Mr Burnham, Headteacher at Thrybergh Academy, said: “To be able to pull together 13 schools into a set of such outstanding performances was an absolutely fantastic feat. I am immensely proud that our students could rise to the challenge and play a part in such a prestigious event.

“The students involved in each of the three elements have a right to be proud of their achievements and will forever look back on the event as something unique that they have contributed to. The WPT is 10 Showcase is exactly what Wickersley Partnership Trust is all about and it means a great deal for all the staff, students and governors that we are part of it.

“As Headteacher, to see our students perform with such confidence and character fills me with pride. Well done to everyone involved. We showed exactly what Thrybergh can do!”

Thank you to everyone who came to support Thrybergh students at the WPT is 10 Showcase event. We’re certain if you enjoyed Scene One of Cinderella, you’ll love the rest! Over 75% of tickets for our December shows have already sold so act quick!
