Rotherham Young Chamber Project
Young Chamber is a project which has been set up in a number of schools across Rotherham and is linked to the Rotherham Chamber of Commerce. Within this project the Young Chamber are given a sum of money to help students start up new enterprise businesses. Any student in school can come to them with a business plan and the Young Chamber loan them the money they need in order to start their small businesses. When the small company begins to make money they pay back the money loaned with a small interest rate over an agreed period of time. The Young Chamber can also use the money themselves to invest in projects which interest them or have a link with a previous project. Through Young Chamber, enterprise projects in the schools can expand and involve the primary schools and the community.
Thrybergh Young Chamber currently has around 40 members in school with a Board of student representatives from different year groups. A President and Vice President were appointed by the Rotherham Young Chamber organisers to help organise the enterprise activity happening in school.
Thrybergh Young Chamber have lots of ideas for future enterprising activities. Watch this space!
