FRANCE TRIP JULY 2007

France Summer School 2007 (Opal Coast, Ardres, Calais)
We have confirmed the places on the summer school to be held at the Acorn Adventure site at Calais in France. To make the most of the trip we are setting off at 11 pm on Thursday the 19th July 2007.

We will cross the English channel Dover-Calais at 7 am on the 20th July and will then do a little shopping and have some time to do our own thing before reaching the site in the afternoon. We are due to leave the site on 23rd July and have yet to get a firm arrival time at Thrybergh Comprehensive.

What to Pack
Acorn Adventure provides all specialist equipment for activities. Regulatory equipment, such as buoyancy aids and helmets, MUST be worn when supplied by the instructor. This applies to everyone, regardless of their level of experience.

Important - To guard against injury, closed shoes i.e. trainers, must be worn for all activities, including those that are water-based. Everyone will need to bring two pairs of footwear; one for wet and one for dry activities. An old pair of trainers is recommended for the water sports and walking boots or trainers for land based activities. Flip-flops are totally unsuitable. As a general rule Acorn Adventure does not provide cagoules or boots for land-based activities.
Denim clothes, including jeans, may not be worn for water-based activities.

Jewellery may cause injury and must therefore NOT be worn during activity sessions. Please limit luggage to one medium-sized suitcase, sleeping bag and one piece of hand luggage per person. We recommend that hand luggage be taken in a small bag that can then be used for carrying a spare jumper, etc. on activities.

DO NOT BRING EXPENSIVE ITEMS SUCH AS IPODS, CAMERAS, PSPS, MOBILE PHONES OR JEWELLERY - AS THESE MAY NOT BE INSURED.
