The school delivers the National Curriculum in Year 7, 8 and 9 (Key stage 3) and all GCSE courses and examinations delivered in Years 10 and 11 (Key stage 4) follow nationally agreed guidelines known as the “National Criteria”.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) courses are taught in all years in the school. Cross-curricular themes such as Careers, Health, Sex and Relationships Education, Industry Links and Citizenship form part of many subjects and are an integral part of PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) which is delivered throughout Key Stages 3 and 4. Physical Education and Religious Education are also delivered throughout Key Stages 3 and 4.
Schemes for Learning, examination specifications and a copy of the school Improvement Plan are available from the Headteacher. The School is actively developing Enterprise & all year groups participate in Enterprise activities throughout the academic year.
GCSE Examination Syllabuses
The GCSE examinations test not only memory and orderly presentation of facts, but also understanding, practical and other skills, and the ability to apply knowledge. All GCSE courses and examinations follow nationally agreed guidelines, known as the “National Criteria”
