GCSE Overview
The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is the name of a set of British examinations, usually taken by secondary school students at age 15-16 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (but not Scotland, where the equivalent is called Standard Grade)

Below you will find various links to websites that will help you with your GCSE revision, or GCSE work throughout the year.

(A straightforward site which focuses on helping you to achieve higher grades in English and English Literature GCSE exams. You are also invited to send in questions)

(A helpful site if you struggle with organising and extending your essays. Also extremely useful for preparing for your exams as it helps you with comparing and contrasting essays which you will need to use when comparing poems)

(A site on English grammar; If you struggle with your apostrophes or semi-colons then this is the site for you)

(A superb site for revising the AQA anthology. It has in-depth commentaries of all poems in the current anthology. It also has sections on all aspects of coursework.)

(A great resource with notes on many popular GCSE texts such as Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, The Go-Between and more. It also contains revision notes to help you with some of the poems from the anthology)

Belmont High School (A useful site if you are studying the novel Of Mice and Men or the novel To Kill a Mockingbird - good because words and phrases that you may have difficulty understanding are explained)

(Free Online Literature with more than 2000 whole Classic Texts to view. If the text you are studying is on this site, then there is no need to take your book home as you can view it on-line)
