Thrybergh School and Sports College honour those who have died in war since World War 1.
All students attended a Remembrance Assembly today to honour British Soldiers who have fought or are currently fighting in wars across the world. Respect was paid to relatives of both staff and students whom have fought in wars. Special mention was made of students who have recently left the School and are now serving in the armed forces, one of whom is currently serving on the front line in Afghanistan.
Two students also spoke about members of family; Rosie Riley's great grandfather had fought in World War 1 and Shannon Bates brother has recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan where he received a medal which was proudly shown during Assembly.
Student reprensentatives from each form added a poppy to a wreath which will be displayed in Reception as a reminder that we should never forget the sacrifice others make so that we may keep our freedom.

Danny Morton and Adam Cantrell, two students now in Year 11 at our School who help out each year with poppy sales.
A two minute silence was also held at 11am.
