Thrybergh School and Sports College gains Healthy Schools status
Thrybergh School and Sports College was awarded Healthy School status during Summer term 2007 and was presented with this award at a celebration event at Aston Hall on July 12th 2007.
Thrybergh were one of only 6 Rotherham secondary schools to receive this award, gaining accreditation at national level and also at the advanced Rotherham level.
Healthy Schools Accreditation lasts for 3 years so the school will continue to work on and develop this area with a variety of initiatives to keep TCS at the forefront of keeping our school a healthy environment for pupils and all the staff who work here.
Healthy Schools Good Practice Award
In December 2007, Thrybergh School and Sports College staff took to the boards in a Christmas pantomime ‘Dick Whittington’.
Much fun was had by all involved, with students, parents and other members of staff having the opportunity to buy tickets to the evening performances to be entertained by the staff cast.
Following the success of this event, Thrybergh School and Sports College were awarded a Healthy Schools ‘Good Practice’ Award for this work which comes under the Rotherham Advanced Healthy Schools remit of ‘staff health and well-being’
