'Sports into Literacy' Programme: The Eyam Experience
As part of the 'Sports into Literacy' Programme, eight Year 7 boys have been given a 'Sports Reading Mentor', to promote and encourage enjoyment in reading. These pupils have been attending reading sessions, with their mentors, to develop reading skills.
As a reward for their hard work, they went to Eyam to participate in various outdoor activities; incorporating reading skills. These activities included; climbing, absailing and caving.
