HeadteacherComing to the end of my first year as Head of Thrybergh School and Sports College I am certain we can be the best. A fantastic year eleven has just left, after celebrating with a glittering prom at The Carlton Park Hotel. They will get the best results ever for this school. The performances of Blood Brothers - a very difficult play to present - were spine-chillingly good on two nights in June.

The community turned out in force to see the play - we were almost full on the final night - and this encourages us to believe that our determination to be a centre for the community is welcomed by them. Christmas was a brilliant time in school and the staff panto - again performed to the public - was very well received. We were able to turn from the triumph of the panto to the (almost) disaster of the worst snow in years. Once again however our staff and students braved the challenge with such determination that attendance was hardly affected.

There is no magic formula to success at school, or in life. Turn up everyday, after a good night's sleep and in a frame of mind to work. Do your very best, even when it gets hard. Be sociable, polite and supportive whenever you can - and you will succeed. Thrybergh staff and students have been doing these things with increasing enthusiasm. They will succeed.

Mrs Bev Clubley, Headteacher.
