I believe that educators need to unlock an enjoyment for learning to develop happy, confident pupils who are ready and prepared for every stage of their educational journey. Quality teaching and learning is at the heart of this success and can ensure progress and accomplishment. I have worked at Thrybergh for many years and started my career here as a newly qualified teacher. I have had many different roles including Head of PE, Head of Year, Head of Faculty (PE), Assistant Head and now Vice Principal 3-14. My interests include most sports and in particular Netball. I love to travel and visit new places in England and abroad. I also love to read when I have time.

Teaching is my absolute passion. As teachers we are given the privilege of being able to nurture, teach and take an important role in your childs' developmental stages. Your child is in my hands for an astonishing amount of time. Therefore, I believe it to be paramount that the children are happy during their time at school, enjoy learning and are equipped with the skills for their future lives. I always endeavour to make learning fun, tailor learning to individual needs and continually re-asses where their learning is taking them. I have been a teacher at Foljambe for 5 years now. I have predominantly worked with Foundation and Year 1 Children at Foljambe. My experience prior to this has been with FS, Y1, Y2, Y3 and Y4. My teaching career has spanned 14 years. I have established a wealth of knowledge and teaching skills over the years at schools in North Yorkshire, Australia, Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham. I have a particularly passion for Literacy, Art and Phonics. I have supported and lead Phonics across the Learning Community. I am an artist at heart. I specialised in art during my early training and have since taken an interest in photography, life drawing and craft. In my personal life, I enjoy gardening with my children and travelling round Europe in my Motorhome
